Release date: August 28, 2026

This update is about doing things together: a new shared folder in Family Space, multi-select batch downloads, a simplified link made for older relatives, and download counts for your own files.

What's new

1. Family Shared Folder

Family Space now has a "Shared Folder." Any member can drop files into it so the whole family can see and download them; the person who added a file, or the family admin, can remove it from the shared folder. The files themselves stay in each member's own space, so putting something in the shared folder doesn't use extra storage.

2. Batch Zip Downloads

You can now select multiple files and folders on the Files page and download them all at once as a zip. Previously you had to download items one by one - this works on mobile too.

3. Senior-Friendly Links

When creating a share link, you can now also generate a "senior-friendly" version - a simplified page with larger text that keeps only the file name, preview, and download button, plus a bigger box for entering the extraction code. Both the regular link and the senior-friendly link work for the same share, so you can send whichever fits the person you're sharing with.

4. Download Counts

You can now see how many times each of your files has been downloaded. This counts download requests; repeated clicks from the same person in a short time only count once.

5. Storage Add-Ons

Family and Pro plans can now add extra storage as needed. If you're running low, you no longer have to upgrade your whole plan - an add-on is enough.

6. Two Small Improvements

  • Each item in the Recycle Bin now shows how many days are left before it's permanently removed
  • The account page has a new "Connected Apps" section where you can issue and revoke app-specific passwords, laying the groundwork for future backup tools and drive-mounting support
